M. Jarvin Emerson Student Paper Competition

The M. Jarvin Emerson Student Paper Competition recognizes excellent work by emerging scholars. It is open to any student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program as of January 1, 2017. The competition evaluates papers authored solely by students (no faculty co-authored papers). If eventual publication would require faculty co-authorship, the paper would not be eligible for the competition.

The winner of the Student Paper Competition will receive a $1,000 prize to attend the MCRSA Annual Conference to present the paper. The winning entry will also be published in the Association's The Journal of Regional Analysis & Policy. Together, the prize and the publication make the MCRSA Student Paper Competition one of the most lucrative opportunities for student recognition among professional associations.
